CHIJ (Chile, Hungary, Italy, and Japan) Academic Agreement Signing Ceremony Is Held

Hosted at the residence of the Ambassador of Chile to Japan, His Excellency Mr. Julio Fiol, was joined by Ms. Alyna Gelényi Martinez, Deputy Head of Mission from the Embassy of Hungary and delegates: Dr. Giovanni Leone, from the University of Atacama (Chile), Dr. Dezső  Varga from Wigner RCP (Hungary), Dr. Domenico Lo Presti from the University of Catania (Italy) and Dr. Hiroyuki Tanaka from the University of Tokyo (Japan) for the signing of an academic agreement to develop joint muography projects for future outer space geological targets.

Residence of the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Chile to Japan

Chile is famous for having several observatories such as the University of Tokyo Atacama Observatory, located 5,640 meters above sea level on Cerro Chainantor. Recently there has been a rise in interest for Chile’s geology also; for instance, “astrotourism” along with mining and geothermal energy resources.
